NOTES
STORIE DI VITA E MALAVITA (1975) shows in semi-documentary style a cross-section of juvenile prostitution in Italy, including the shadow world acting around it: a strong charge against Italian State and its Police. Directed by committed director Carlo Lizzani, this tough, violent movie tells about the underworld and its impact on civil society: to deal with this difficult matter Lizzani addressed to the outstanding skill of Morricone, who composed one of his best though neglected scores. Actually only one short theme from STORIE DI VITA E MALAVITA had been put on record to date: the rest of the score appears on this CD for the first time, and it will surely be a real discovery for any Morricone fan
SAN BABILA ORE VENTI: UN DELITTO INUTILE (1976): during the '70s in Milano a young Fascist action squad commits a number of crimes (rapes, attempts, murders, provocations against left-wing activists, etc.) while Police refrains from intervening to stop them. But finally the squad goes to jail thanks to the revelations of a repentant.
