ORIGINAL MOVIE TITLE YEAR GENRE COMPOSER FOREIGN MOVIE TITLE
GIORNALINO DI GIAN BURRASCA, IL 1964 Musical Rota, Nino

NOTES
In 1964 Lina WertmŸller directed for television a short serial story that soon proved to be the most successful Italian broadcasting to date as well as for many years to come: Il Giornalino di Gian Burrasca. Starred by many famed theater actors and by then 'hot' teenager singer Rita Pavone in the leading role, the story tells about a young lovely rascal spending his family days between jokes, teasings and tricks. Though seemingly unfit for the task, the great composer Nino Rota was called to write the music for this extravaganza, and showed what versatile musical stuff he was made of writing dozen brilliant songs and memorable dance music that still prove to be a true joy for the ears. To celebrate the 20 years from Rota's death we issued on CD this small underrated jewel containing a total of 60' of music (30' of them were never released on record before) re-mixed from the original tapes and completely remastered to meet today's listening demands. Rita Pavone sings most of the songs and famed zither-player Anton Karas appears in the title theme. A loving tribute to Rota's memory.
