NOTES
I PUGNI IN TASCA In 1965 Marco Bellocchio made his debut as a director with this tough, cruel, distressing film about the crisis of a bourgeois family. His innovative cinema was mirrored by a not less innovative and provocative score written by Ennio Morricone, who called attention for being an intellectual composer besides being a skilled western music craftsman.
I BASILISCHI Directed in 1963 by Lina WertmŸller, this comedy deals with the lazy and tedious provincial life in the south of Italy: Morricone's score perfectly depicts the slow pace of layabouts' everyday life.
GENTE DI RISPETTO Directed in 1975 by veteran Luigi Zampa and starring Franco Nero, James Mason and beautiful Jennifer O'Neill, this movie deals with a political thriller set in the Mafia realm of south Italy. A beautiful, moody score by Morricone helps to keep the action pace alive.
