Film western spettacolari e momenti da ricordare da e con il Maestro Morricone in persona.
Ennio Morricone ha composto oltre 400 colonne sonore per il cinema e la televisione, oltre a più di 100 opere classiche. Non era noto solo per le iconiche colonne sonore western, ma anche per le musiche da film di critica sociale e per film come “Cinema Paradiso”, “Il deserto dei Tartari” e “La classe operaia va in paradiso”.
Questo concerto del 2004 con la Münchner Rundfunkorchester è una delle pochissime registrazioni in cui Morricone dirige la propria musica. È stata la prima apparizione pubblica del Maestro alla direzione della propria musica in Germania ed è ora disponibile per la prima volta su tutti i DSP e su CD.
L'album contiene una raccolta rappresentativa delle sue musiche da film più famose, tra cui Il buono, il brutto e il cattivo, C'era una volta il West, Un pugno di dinamite, C'era una volta in America, Cinema Paradiso, Gli intoccabili e molte altre.
