The movie "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" is the latest installment in the series following "The Super Mario Bros. Movie", unfolding a grand-scale story that expands the setting into space.

In keeping with this, the music also aims for a more dynamic and multidimensional expression.

Brian Tyler returns to compose the score, as he did for the previous film.

Having worked on numerous Hollywood blockbusters, Tyler once again centers the score around a full orchestra while weaving in motifs from Koji Kondo's original game music throughout. He masterfully balances the series' familiar charm with the grand scale expected of a film score.

The Japanese CD release is a 2-disc set, with each disc featuring the signature colors of Mario and Luigi. The packaging visually reflects the game's world. Liner notes are also included, designed to provide deeper insight into the game.
