TECNICA DI UN OMICIDIO

Digitmovies pubblica su vinile, in edizione estesa, la OST di Robby Poitevin dal film
“Tecnica di un omicidio” (aka”The hired killer” – “Ich heiße John Harris” – “Technique
d'un meurtre” – “Técnica de um homicídio”).
LA COLONNA SONORA
Robby Poitevin (24-10-1926 / 3-10-2003) rappresenta la scuola di Musica da Film
Italiana molto vicina, per le sonorità Lounge, a quella dei colleghi americani come:
Lalo Schifrin, Henry Mancini, Quincy Jones e Hugo Montenegro. Oltre ad essere
stato un validissimo arrangiatore e direttore d’orchestra, il M° Poitevin ha composto
commenti di tipo jazzistico, blues e swing come nel caso di “Tecnica di un omicidio”
che rientra nel filone del poliziesco e spionaggio, genere per il quale il compositore
ha anche scritto altre notevoli colonne sonore come “Assassination”, “L’uomo del
colpo perfetto”, “Quella carogna dell’ispettore Sterling”, “A.D.3 Operazione squalo
bianco”. Nel 1966 la RCA pubblicò un 33 giri nella serie promozionale SP (SP 8017)
contenente nove selezioni con una durata di minuti 19:06. Nel 2009 GDM Music ha
stampato questa OST, per la prima volta assoluta su CD (GDM 4018), con tre brani
extra, abbinandola a “Quella carogna dell’ispettore Sterling”. Ristampiamo su vinile
le nove tracce del 33 giri promo originale e oltre alle tre bonus tracks del precedente
CD GDM aggiungiamo quattro brani inediti scoperti nei master mono della recording
session dell’epoca, che portano il nostro vinile alla durata totale di minuti 37:04.
Robby Poitevin ha composto una musica molto raffinata che si ispira al jazz, blues e
swing americano, creando talvolta atmosfere pacate e misteriose contrapposte ad
altre di pura azione. Tra sicari, proiettili e omicidi appare anche un tema d’amore che
l’autore arrangia in versioni differenti come bossa e cantato da voce femminile.

THE SOUNDTRACK
Robby Poitevin (24-10-1926 / 3-10-2003) represents the Italian Film Music school,
very close, for its lounge sounds, to that of his American collegues, such as Lalo
Schifrin, Henry Mancini, Quincy Jones and Hugo Montenegro. Other than being an
extremely valid arranger and orchestra leader, Maestro Poitevin composed jazz,
blues and swing themes, like those for “The hired killer”, which is part of the police
and spy current. For this genre, the composer also created other remarkable
soundtracks, like “Assassination”, “L’uomo del colpo perfetto”, “Quella carogna
dell’ispettore Sterling”, “A.D.3 Operazione squalo bianco”. In 1966 RCA published an
LP for the promo series SP (SP 8017), which had nine selections for a total running
time of 19:06 minutes. In 2009 GDM Music printed out this OST, for the very first
time on CD (GDM 4018), with three extra tracks, pairing it with “Quella carogna
dell’ispettore Sterling”. We are reprinting the nine tracks of the original promo LP
and, along with the three bonus tracks of the previous GDM’s CD, we are adding
four more unpublished tracks, discovered in the original recording session’s mono
masters, which bring the total running time of the LP up to 37:04 minutes. Robby
Poitevin composed an elegant music, inspired by jazz, blues and American swing,
creating calm and mysterious athmospheres as well as pure action ones. Among
hired assassins, bullets and homicides there is also a love theme, arranged in
different versions such as Bossa and sung by female voice.
